Principal of the Year
The 2011 Elementary and Secondary Principals of the Year awards are co-sponsored by FUTURES Foundation, The Civic League of the Halifax Area, and the Volusia County School District. This years' recipients were surprised by a visit from the Prize Patrol comprised of Superintendent Smith, FUTURES representatives, school board members, and area superintendents.
Marie Stratton of Osceola & Ortona Elementary Schools is the new Elementary Principal of the Year.
Mamie Oatis of Southwestern Middle School is the Secondary Principal of the Year.
