FUTURES Foundation for Volusia County Schools awarded $30,000 grant from Duke Energy Foundation as part of commitment to support communities across Florida.

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – The Duke Energy Foundation announced it has awarded a $30,000 grant to FUTURES Foundation for Volusia County Schools to support the vitality of communities across Florida, including here in Volusia. 

FUTURES Foundation is one of 22 organizations in Florida to collectively receive $773,000 in grants from the Duke Energy Foundation.  FUTURES Foundation will use their $30,000 grant to increase student engagement in three different initiatives within Volusia County Schools – supporting Teacher Classroom Grants distribution for K12 students, providing hands on learning for middle and high school students through Field STEM trips, and offering professional learning opportunities for Science and STEM educators.

Founded in 1985, FUTURES is a nonprofit, direct support organization for Volusia County Schools. Its mission is to engage business, civic, and district leaders to promote and achieve educational excellence for Volusia County Public Schools.
